It's indeed a wonderful day today. Light and breezy, not too breezy, not just yet. But the fresh air so early in the morning is good for me as I sit in silence while everyone still sleeps........
This week I had month end at the office, so worked some overtime and was incredibly busy and exhausted most evenings. Luckily this weekend it's all over and the pace can get set back to normal and not frenetic.
Yesterday was my birthday. It was a wonderful day albeit much busier than I wanted. I shared a breakfast and back massage with a friend, received some wonderful gifts from friends and homemade cards from my two girls, and spent the afternoon taking my youngest to a concert performance in a town about 120km's from where we stay. Thereafter we went to watch "Eat, Pray, Love" which was pretty enjoyable, will certainly go read the book now! We got home well after 11 pm........
Today we have a big family braai (barbeque- but we use firewood to make coals and then we 'braai' the meat.) A big family braai (for yesterday). I need to go make some strawberry muffins, noodle salad, garlic bread and possibly if I have time a wonderful chocolate pie recipe I received from a friend....the family are indeed spoilt.........
And then my maid who does my weekly ironing jilted me. Look I can go without a housemaid, but not without an ironing maid. She just left us and after a week's laundry not being ironed it stands easily a good 50cm high. So before tomowith not a wordrrow morning I'll need to iron some basic clothes for school, and work! Yay. Can't wait to get started (on the search for a new one, don't misunderstand me here now!!!)
Here's hoping you had a great week and an even better weekend where you are. Thanks to the friends that visit, I am very busy in the week (start studies tomorrow night, write exams in exactly one month!!! 3 textbooks to get into this head!) so please forgive me if I only blog and comment on weekends, work and studies abd family keeps me busy. But I do appreciate the visits and comments.
One of my all time favourite musicians celebrated his birthday (and that of his son Sean) with me yesterday, the one and only missing-in-action-dearly-needed-in-this-world-today-wished-there-were-more-like-you Mr John Lennon......
Here's a clip of one of my favourite songs...just Imagine........

Till next time, enjoy your life.........

I don't mind ironing. Pack it up and post it to me :) although you might have to buy more clothes to tide you over.....our postal system can be very slow, haha!
Your family is very spoilt with the wonderful meal you're putting together.
You also have a wonderful week and don't work too hard.
Happy belated birthday to you.;) Sounds like a lovely birthday among friends and family and your barbecue seems like it will be a lot of fun.;)
Sorry about all that ironing that awaits you. I too do not like to iron, but luckily living on my own and buying clothes that are iron free, I never need to.;)
Have a lovely weekend and a great week ahead,
xoxo
Happy belated birthday! My daughter's birthday is tomorrow.
I know how you feel about ironing. It is so time consuming and for what....neat clothing that you wear and wrinkle up as soon as you sit down. I have tons of shirts in the laundry room that never make it to my closet...they are all waiting to be ironed. Every now and again, I get ambitious, iron one, wear it, then it winds up back in the pile again.
Have a great weekend in spite of the ironing!
Happy belated Birthday to you:) I hope it was a great one. It is a long weekend here in Canada, Thanksgiving, so a lovely weekend. Good luck with your studying.
My Other Half is a champion ironer. But seeing as he's here in NZ and you're over there in SA, it probably wouldn't work out!
Happy birthday for Saturday. Hope the braai was delish :)
Happy Belated Birthday! I'm not keen on ironing either, and mine is piling up, but one day I'll get to it, when we need more clothes (ha,ha). Eat, Pray, Love - I enjoyed the book, haven't seen the movie though. Listened to a tribute to John Lennon on CBC Saturday night (Randy Bachman's Vinyl Tap)- lots of great songs. Enjoy your week.
Happy Belated Birthday!!
I agree re John Lennon!
