So. It's the beginning of Spring. Green leaves are blossoming and all those nice Springy things. Dawn before 6am right now and very soon before 5.30 am and then before 5am. (I love waking up in the daylight, I detest waking up in the dark cold winter mornings and dragging myself out of bed in the cold. It goes so much easier when the sun is up. I can even face 4am in the Spring/Summer for my study schedule the next 2 months. As long as some light is around the place...)
Anyway. So everyone and their aunt is getting into exercise mode, you know, bikini bodies, beach, sun and summer. Yes sure.
My friend has dragged me along to a Spring exercise program. They exercise 1 hr 5 days a week. Whoa baby. I can barely manage 5 minutes. So I will be exercising as best I can 3x a week instead of 5. Yes Yes I know. I don't do what the crowd does. Besides if anyone is likely to have an immediate heart attack from overdoing any of this it would be me. So I tread cautiously where everyone flies in.
I ran/walked 2.8 km this evening. Along with 30 other various shaped huffing and puffing ladies though no one was huffing and puffing more than I. I won't say how long it took me. Supposed to test my fitness levels. Yes sure. She could have asked me I would have told her my levels were zero.
Be as it may, I have committed to 3x a week the next 6 weeks. You understand I am not one of those that run all out full steam and pass out the 2nd day or give up the 2nd week. I don't have any steam. So I chug along for 6 weeks.
And I am positive, something, albeit walking 2.8km 3x a week at a pace to give me calf pains and faster heart rate - I am confident something will work out well after 6 weeks. I don't expect too much though. I am just expecting a sustained start. And an ending better than where I started. MY true goal is running 5km 3x a week with a 10km run on a Saturday. Not too high goals are they? Well right now they're years away, but we take it step by step day for day. I'm a practical sensible type of girl. Well at least that's what I tell my heart when it's exercising!!!
Hold thumbs for me, I am exhausted as I sit here and I have 3 hours of study to get in tonight, Urgent assignment. Tomorrow I'll roll out of bed I'm sure. Just keep holding thumbs

It's so much easier to be motivated when you exercise with a group and it's surprising how quickly you progress when you stick at it too. I'm sure you'll run a 10k before very long. I've done 2 but, unfortunatly, a weakness in one leg prevents me from running that distance any more. Do it while you can!

Thanks for the positive words Teresa...I'll keep at it!!
