1. What's your favorite meal to serve on a chilly autumn evening?
My mom always made the most delish Hungarian goulash. When feeling chilly I usually make curried chicken pot – something to warm us up....
2. Are you a creature of habit? Explain.
I guess so. I like ‘routine’ (I’m an accountant when I’m not trying to study psychology!) -I get up same time every day (even weekends I get up very early), and most routines are another word for habit. On vacation however, I usually ‘break the routine’ in all ways possible.....
3. What food product (no longer readily available) do you remember and miss from days gone by?
Mmmm...delish toffee apples...we don’t find them as easily...
4. What's something you've lost that you've never been able to find? Any theories as to what happened?
I lose things all the time, mainly because I really hide them from my kids and then can’t remember where I hid them. I lost tickets to a music concert 4 years ago – I found them the other day when springcleaning some far-out-of-the-way-drawer....guess Spring cleaning is going to strat with a bang in my house now we’ve had our first Spring rains...
5. Zoo~circus~ carnival...your favorite?
If I had to choose it would be carnival only because I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and homemade foods and arts and crafts...– Zoos – can be interesting but I don’t like animals so locked up out of their natural environment even if for educational purposes; Circus – again don’t appreciate the way they use the animals
6. What song makes you feel instantly happy?
What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong. Also” 99 red Balloons” by Nina
7. To what extent are you an argumentative person?
Probably a good extent, although now in my mid forties I couldn’t really be bothered arguing anymore and trying to ‘convince’ people. I used to argue a lot/mainly termed it debating - if I didn’t agree with someone I’d say so. Now unless invited to offer my opinion, if I don’t agree with someone I would probably still say so – I do not go under the radar as a yes woman – but thereafter I would just let the matter be. I won’t ‘debate’ continuously in an endeavour to change their minds, I will just state my opinion in terms of “I agree/I disagree because....” and let it be. If someone wanted further clarification I’d provide it (or if I was halfway to understanding someone and wanted further clarification myself I’d ask), but beyond that if I see this person is very vehement about something that I don’t agree with, I will now just let it be and wash over me. Excuse myself and walk away. Could be because I realise we all have opinions, and we are entitled to them even if some people stay asses they still entitled to their ass-like opinion. At the office however, I won’t do anything in accounting I don’t agree with and will therefore debate/argue the point till someone sees why I don’t do it or my boss decides to do it himself ‘cos I refuse
LOL!!
I have always enjoyed debating with really sensible open-minded people however, as this is always an endeavour on MY side to learn something, so when a sensible non-violent non-argumentative someone will ‘discuss an issue’ or ‘debate with me’ I would enjoy the conversation. I certainly don’t believe I am always right or have all the answers, but I always endeavour to keep an open mind and at least hear what the other is saying. This way you actually learn quite a bit about them and of course whatever the subject is they could be debating!!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I love the month October. Here in the Southern Hemisphere we have moved from Spring almost directly into Summer, but October remains the most pleasant month for me (and then March).....Could be I’m biased of course, I’m an October baby so.........
However October also usually signals the lead up to the end-of-October-early-November-exams so..........lots of learning awaits me the next 6 weeks. But it’s all interesting stuff so I’m game, as one month after exams signals December vacation – usually spent at the beach for us. I’m so looking forward to 2 weeks at the beach, I must admit.Till then it’s exercise 3-4x a week, studies, kids’ end of the year exams soon, Season school concerts and prize giving stuff...usual end of the year hectic activities....Soon it’ll rush past...We have an Arts festival close by this week...Going to take my daughters to see Lochnville this Thursday and Friday hoping to see the Parlotones...inbetween lots of noisy students...We are also big rugby supporters and with the Rugby World Cup on in New Zealand, this weekend heralds the quarterfinals, the big guns have all arrived and ready to go into the semis so this weekend rugby should be good stuff too...Enjoy your first week of October and thanks for visiting..

I found it very interesting to read about your weather and school activities. This is the first time I've visited your blog. Living in South Africa must be incredibly different from being in the U.S...different seasons, etc.
Enjoyed reading your answers to the questions!!
Enjoy watching the Rugby finals. Rugby is one of the things that I miss a lot about living in England, it is so hard to find televised here in Nevada. I have wonderful memories of sitting in a pub watching Rugby and all of the supporters.
It's unusual to read a blog from the southern hemisphere and I found it really interesting to hear about your seasonal and holiday plans. I look forward to reading more from you! :)
I sometimes forget that not everyone in hodgepodge is in the USA. I am so happy its getting cooler, whereas you are just starting summer... :)
